neon: TOTALLED
basically, my car being totalled was the best thing that could’ve happened at that exact moment lol. i was out on the town with the lady when a dude smashed into my car, completely totalling it. don’t get me wront, it COMPLETELY sucked at first. i had to learn the bus system. walked from the bus stop to work in -5 degree weather. no big whoop. but then magic happened. a friend/coworker, wes, overheard me telling the story of my car to another coworker and declared that he had been given a car by a friend of his who no longer needed it. so, being the kind soul that he is, he just gave me this extra car. so i ended up receiving a settlement from the guy’s insurance company, which i used to PAY OFF the uninsured accident. so, that’s all taken care of, finally. just another step. next up, CREDIT CARDS.

i started the big shit yesterday. i cleaned out the closet in the entry way. now, there should only be shoes and coats in there. i even mopped that bitch. the next step is to buy a vacuum cleaner. these carpets are damn near wrecked. i need to clean the couch too, but i’m not sure how. i’ll figure that out soon enough though. it’s coming together though.

i went on a late-night bike ride last night with josh baskerville and dave hoffman. that was a good time. we just pedalled around the city with no real destination. it felt pretty great. i feel like my fitness is improving slowly. i need to buy a scale, because i’m basically shooting in the dark right now.
it's a start
eric woods contacted me today via facebook about maybe purchasing my bike. i’m thinking this would be a good move, considering it would be a good size for him. i’m still not sure what to charge him. it’s a great frame. nice wheels/tires. just paid to do a single-speed conversion on it. we’ll see how it goes.
top priority right now
i really, really want to learn c#. i’ve been slowly making my way through a book called “head first into c#”. it’s pretty fun, but i think it assumes that i already know a few things that i just don’t. i don’t really know the vocabulary that they use. not sure what a “class” is or a “namespace”. i’m sure that will all come eventually, but it would be nice to know these things going into it. i think i’m going to set a personal goal to complete one chapter per week in this book. i think that would serve me well. there are 15 chapters in the book, so a week per chapter should do just fine. then maybe, if i feel comfortable enough, i could move on and start learning xna. or at the very least, go through the book again. i’ll post updates as i make my way.

Selling the Trek
i know i know, i was super jazzed on the trek when i first got it. don’t get me wrong, it is a SWEET ride. but the truth is, the frame is just too damn small. i’m 6’2”. i need at least a 58cm frame. that trek is 48cm, MAYBE 50. it is just too damned uncomfortable to ride. i hit downtown with josh baskerville and dave tonight and was pretty cramped the whole time. it sucked, for sure. i think the plan is just to put some stuff on layaway at joe’s in fountain square and pay it off as i go. that should do me just fine. nice little single speed. NOT a fixie. although, i’m thinking about it…

joey came home. i'm becoming a little annoyed with a few things. alright, i get that nelson chewed up his hat. my bad. but asking me to replace it? nah. dude's friends/dog/work have effectively broken my couch, washer, EAR BUDS, and whatever else. he ain't replacing shit. we'll call that annoyance 1. the next thing is the consumer attitude. first thing's first, he's not a consumer. a consumer goes to work, earns a check, and goes out and consumes things. or purchases the things he/she intends to consume. but here's the thing, he doesn't actually own anything. nothing. none of the items in this house are his (except for bruce). i went to listen to some music the other day and none of the music in the itunes library was actually mine. he'd erased all of it. i was pretty pissed, but i got over it.
but all in all, things are going pretty good. joey and i get along just fine. he's a nice guy. and he's great with the dogs. also, scoop and i are doing GREAT. i really think that things are going to be okay. plus, i can't wait for her to see her scoop in the ensemble that i've thrown together for the david felland/ lindsay ritter wedding. that's this weekend. rehearsal dinner is thursday and the actual wedding is saturday. really stoked on that. for sure.
bachelor(ette)
on another note, NO RAPTURE! i've survived yet ANOTHER supposed rapture. some religious zealot decided that today would be the day that ol' jeez louise would come back and take all his followers to heaven. well, he was wrong. eat it. i'm growing more and more heated, with each passing day, with these people. religion preys on gullible people who are desperate for answers. more on that later. i think i'm going to do a religious post soon. it's been a long time coming.
